Jeanette D. Hunter Obituary

Jeanette Delores Hunter was born in Savannah, Ga on August 9, 1942 to the late Levi and Marie Timmons Hunter. She attended school in Dublin, Ga and Jacksonville, Fl. She later moved to Waycross, Ga approximately around 1964. She was proceeded in death by her son Theodore Martin Hunter. She was the baby of her siblings, two of which proceeded her in death; a brother, Alfonzo (Bo Pete) Timmons and a sister, Edith Hunter-Patterson. She was also proceeded in death by a special brother-in-law James A. Walker and one niece Dana Patterson. She answered her heavenly Father’s call on Friday May 29, 2020 at Folkston Park Nursing Home, (Folkston, Ga.). Jeanette was a member of New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she served faithfully in various capacities. She also baked cream cheese pound cakes that were loved by everyone. Prior to her decline in health, she served on the Senior Usher Board as the Vice-President. She was employed at Satilla Regional Medical Center for 19 years. She also worked at Waycross Sewing and Shoe Factory for many years. Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Debra Johnson, two granddaughters, Shamara Hunter and Shenna Johnson, all of Waycross, Ga. Two grandsons, Willie Johnson III of Waycross, Ga and Yavari Hunter of Norfolk, Va, and one daughter-in-law, Michelle Hunter of Waycross, Ga. One sister, Nadine Hunter Walker of Chestertown, MD, and one sister-in-law, Lora Timmons of Baltimore, MD. Nine great-grandchildren who adored her: Zitayvious Johnson, Bia’ja Johnson, Zhorien Johnson, Jalen Johnson, Braylin Johnson, Kynnedy Montford, Brailei Johnson, Brayden Johnson, and Jae’ceon Nelson. Three god-children, Steven McGauley Jr., Chanterie McGauley, and LaTifah Bell. A nephew, Bruno Hunter. Several nieces, Nadine Jones, Lisa (Bradford) Pender, and Brenda Cropper. Two favorite cousins, Robert Hunter and Darrell Coley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
