Denise Lugene Brooks

Denise L. Brooks, born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on April 16, 1957, the youngest of four to Charles and Jaqueline Jackson, passed away of natural causes on May 28, 2020. Cremation is under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Raised in a military family, Denise traveled to different places meeting new people and putting smiles on their faces. She had a natural light that would brighten anyone’s day. With three older brothers to guide her and of course toughen her up when needed, gave her the love and strength to become whom she was. She was a rambunctious child with a fiery spirit that even in her adult years could never be tamed. In March of 1976, Denise gave birth to her daughter Jacqueline. With this new life to care for, she found stability in joining the military. In August of 1979 Denise joined the Air Force as a Medical Services Specialist/Personal Affairs Specialist, a field she had aspired to be in to help others in need both medically and emotionally. While serving, she was awarded the AF Achievement Medal, Longevity Service Award and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship in 1982 and the AF Good Conduct Medal in 1983. In November of 1985, Denise was discharged from service. In 2002, after living in South Dakota for years, Denise returned to Mountain Home where she married Bobby Brooks on May 16, 2003. With the marriage, she gained two more daughters, Christa and Kylee. She loved these girls and raised them as her own. Denise loved to go camping as often as possible to be close to nature. Pine Flats in Lowman was her favorite spot. When she wasn’t camping, she loved going on motorcycle rides. She enjoyed the wind thru her hair and the freedom of the ride. On Wednesdays, she would join her friends and family bowling league. She loved showing off her rambunctious, sassy side while dancing around to music being played by Bobby. Denise is survived by her mother Jacqueline Jackson and Joe Bier, her husband Bobby Brooks, daughters; Jacqueline Carpenter and wife Triche all of Mountain Home, Christa Brooks and Trevor of Kuna and Kylee Brooks of Lewiston, her brothers John Jackson and wife Jeanne and Jim Jackson and wife Roni all of Virginia, along with six grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Denise is preceded in death by her father Charles and brother Robert Jackson.
