<p>Shannon Nathaniel McGregory, 45, of Ottawa, passed away May 2, 2020 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.<br /> <br /> Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites.<br /> <br /> Shannon was born February 5, 1975, in Marks, Mississippi, to Jimmy and Ellen Jane "Janie" (Bradley) McGregory . He married Jessica Haws on June 7, 2003 in Pontotoc, MS.<br /> <br /> Shannon was a wonderful husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and so much more. He was a kind and caring person. Shannon was a good friend who never met a stranger and would help anyone he could. He was outgoing, adventurous, and loved to make people laugh. Shannon enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and riding horses. He loved music, singing, and dancing.<br /> <br /> Shannon will be missed by many people. If you knew him, you already know this world was a better place with him with him in it, and losing him changed it forever. For those of us who can't imagine life without him, our only comfort is knowing that Shannon is in a better place reunited with his beloved mother, his father, and his brother. He will be missed and remembered always by those of us who loved him.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his wife, Jessica; his children, Christopher, Bradley, Amber, and Angel McGregory; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Macy, Maddie, MaKenzie, Aubry, Kylie, Abigail and Bradley; his brother, Stephen McGregory; and his sister, Sherri Hawkins.<br /> <br /> Shannon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Samuel McGregory.<br /> <br /> Memorials may be directed to the family.</p>Obituary
