Lloyd Streich Obituary

Lloyd Streich died Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his home in rural Granite Falls at the age of 72.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020, from 1:00-2:30 pm at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Granite Falls.  A memorial service will begin at 2:30 pm following the visitation.  

Lloyd Laverne Streich was born on August 22, 1947, in Montevideo, MN, to Ervin and Anna (Haas) Streich.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Granite Falls and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1967.  Lloyd was united in marriage to LouAnn Ladwig on May 10, 1969, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  They made their home in Granite Falls and later moved out to the country on Pete's Point Road. Lloyd worked for Plews for 8 years, and also worked as a loader operator at the Martin Marietta Rock Quarry near Granite Falls for 35 years until retiring in 2011.  Lloyd was the owner/operator of Streich's Tree Service and spent many hours trimming trees and selling wood.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, shaking dice, gardening, feeding and watching the birds, and spending time with family and friends.  Lloyd was rarely seen without a Sun Drop in his hand.  

He is survived by his wife, LouAnn; two sons: Leslie (Melissa) Streich of Waite Park and Christopher (Denise) Streich of Granite Falls; three granddaughters: Sofia, Riley, and Reagan; a brother, Ernest (Linda) Streich of Granite Falls; three sisters: Adeline Sens of Mankato, Carol Nelson of Granite Falls, and Dorothy Nokleby of Granite Falls; several nieces and nephews; and his black lab, Cinder.          

Preceding him in death were his parents Ervin and Anna, his in-laws Orval and Lillian; 2 sisters: Erna Martinson and Leona Streich (in infancy); brothers-in-law: Rich Nokleby, Don Nelson, Russ Martinson, Garfield Sens, and Gerald Ladwig; and sister-in-law,  Linda Wittrock,
