Carolyn Bitsy Nations Obituary

Carolyn "Bitsy" Nations passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Souhaven, MS at the age of 75.

Bitsy was a lifelong resident of Fayette, MS; born on March 8, 1944, the daughter of Walter A. and Florence Helen Jones Brown.  She loved cooking and travelling.  She was best known for her lifelong passion for making the highly sought after and secret recipe for Brown family pralines.  She made them every year for the Natchez Pilgrimage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Woodrow Nations; her siblings Rose Estelle "Tell Tell" Pansano, Vivian "Tency" Cangemi, Pebble Robinson, Walter "Tubby" Brown and Sarah "Bosco" Brown.

She is survived by her daughter Rachelle Holder (Chad) of Horn Lake, MS; her brother David Brown (Karen) of Natchez, MS; grandchildren Peyton Holder and Mason Holder and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson, MS.  with Rev. Charles Gammel officiating.  Burial will follow in Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman, MS.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 10:00 until the hour of the service on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Michael "Bullet" Cangemi, Bryan Brown, Gavin Bruce, Dexter Smith, Toler Smith and Clay Brown.  Honorary pallbearers will be Walter "Speedy" Cangemi, Michael Brown, Wylie Smith, Cade Cangemi, Blake Smith and Michael Cangemi, III.
