Charles Ray Hester Obituary

Charles Ray Hester, born June 26, 1950, in Pascagoula, Mississippi went to his heavenly home on May 26, 2020. He was 69 years old and resided in Biloxi, Mississippi.

He was a very active and devoted member of Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast where he and his wife Libby spent much of their time. Over the past 26 years Charles served as security for the church as well as served in many other capacities. He loved his church family and that love was reciprocated by all who knew him.
He served as a fireman on the Pascagoula Fire Department for 7 years! Charles also spent the better part of his adult life as a Private Investigator for Farragut Law Firm in Pascagoula, Mississippi where he not only worked, but forged many lifelong friendships.

His love of antiques. Old cars, and yard sales was apparent. He and Libby spent many Saturday mornings rummaging for treasures, and countless road trips in search of the next yard sale find; if anyone could find a treasure he certainly could.
He was loved and adored by all who knew him and his love for his family was apparent to all. He never met a stranger and did his best to make everyone he met feel special. His presence, his huge heart, his love for life and people will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Charles Hester and Thelma Annette Harris Hester; his brothers Gene Hester, Alton Hester, Clyde Hester; his sisters Louise Maxwell, Micki Broadus, Ann Byron, and Carol Jean Hester.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth Hateley Hester of Biloxi, Mississippi; three brothers, Joseph Hester, Jerry Hester and Jimmy Hester all of Pascagoula, Mississippi; three sisters Debra Dees, Rosemary Hood, and Catherine Salisbury all of Pascagoula, Mississippi; two daughters Angela Kathleen Hester Lawrence and husband  Rev. Chris Lawrence; Tracy Lebreska Hester Weeks and husband Doug Weeks, one son Brian Charles Hester and wife Sheila Bundick Hester; 7 grandchildren Landon Lawrence and wife Blakli, Tylan Weeks and wife Audre, Anna Nicole Lawrence, Hope Elizabeth Weeks, Victoria Celeste Hester, Abigail Christine Hester, and Elizabeth Cate Hester; 5 great grandchildren Emmy Milan Lawrence, Loxley Rae Lawrence, Marley Weeks, Greyson O’Neal Rouse, and Ellington William Smith; many beloved family and friends.

His memorial service will be held at Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11:00 am.

The family would like to thank each and everyone for their love, prayers and continued support as we walk this journey without our precious husband, dad, father n law, grandpa and Pop, but we know we will be reunited again one day on the other side of Jordan.
