Archie Armes, age 92, of Fork Mountain, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.

Archie was born on March 13, 1928.  He and his wife, Dorothy married on November 27, 1947 and raised 5 wonderful children together.  Archie was a deacon and member of Fork Mountain Baptist Church and worked in the coal mines for many years.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Mitchell Armes; wife, Dorothy Armes; daughters, Fay Hall and Patricia Cline; son-in-law, Luther Hamby; sisters, Hazel (Ed) Brown, Etta Patrick, Betty Tucker, Peggy (Roger) Liles; brothers, Vester (Betty) Armes and Arnold (Mildred) Armes.

He is survived by his daughter, Sue Hamby of Wartburg; two sons, Gary (Kay) Armes of Coalfield and Gene (Cindy) Armes of Kingston; special son-in-law, John Cline of Wartburg who took excellent care of him; brother-in-law, Robert Patrick of Wartburg; he was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew, family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with his son, Bro. Gary Armes officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Tioga Cemetery in Fork Mountain.
