It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we, the family of Johnny AuCoin, age 61 announce his passing on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the An Cala Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Reserve Mines, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Roach) AuCoin. Johnny was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Reserve Mines and a long time employee of Meco Construction. He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda (Gushue) AuCoin, Derrick AuCoin, the joy of his life since birth, his brother, Sheldon AuCoin, sisters, Anna (Joe) McNamara, Aggie AuCoin and Sheila (Danny) O'Donnell . Johnny enjoyed special quality times with his great nephew and nieces, Camden, Lillian and Emma. Johnny was predeceased by sisters, Madeleine McNeil and Paulette Forte, his nephew, Shawn McNeil and many in laws. Johnny will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, in laws and many special friends and coworkers. Johnny will be cremated. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at 11 am in St. Joseph's Church, Reserve Mines with interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Fr. Dan Boudreau presiding.
