Obituary

Richard Kenneth Franklin II of Sierra Vista, Arizona entered into eternity on May 24, 2020.  Richard was born on July 31, 1940, in Los Angeles, California to Richard Kenneth Franklin & Frances Eretha McElhannon Franklin.

He spent most of his life in the Gila Valley and the Phoenix area.  He was a master mechanic who could fix anything.  Richard started as a young boy, working on his mother’s washing machine.  He moved on to every kind of car and piece of farm equipment in the Gila Valley.  To that, he added a love of HAM radios and computers.

After 30 years plus in the Guard, he retired to maintain buses and computers at the Solomonville School for 10 years.  He loved driving the school bus.

Richard is survived by his wife, Ann Foster Franklin, his children Kenny (Angela) Franklin, LeAnn (Bob) Sowards, John (Connie) Franklin, and Sandra Franklin, his brothers John (Annie) Franklin and Wayne (Carolyn) West, his sisters Cyndi (Mike) Spafford, Colleen Hanson, and Kip Grant, 27 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
