Ivan Taylor

Ivan Glen Taylor, 92, of Ottumwa, died at 12:29 a.m. May 26, 2020 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born November 20, 1927 in Bloomfield at the Taylor Homestead to Robert Glenn and Stella Jane Dale Taylor. A 1945 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Ivan attended Iowa State University before joining the US Army in 1946. Returning to ISU in 1947, he graduated with a Civil Engineering degree in 1951. Ivan worked for the topographic division and the field survey division with the U.S. Department of Interior, and retired from the United States Geological Survey Agency December 25, 1982. Following retirement, he lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico, moving back to Ottumwa in 2006. Surviving a brother, Lewis Taylor; 2 sisters, Florence (Kenneth) Patterson and Betty Abbott. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raymond Taylor. His body has been cremated and no services are planned. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
