It is with great sadness that the family of Michael F. Davis, also known to friends and family as Mick, announces his passing on Friday May 22, 2020 at the age of 72. Mick will always be remembered by his loving wife and best friend of 50-years, Susan (Kinkle); Children: Michelle Dougherty (John), Jennifer Vandever (Kevin), Michael Davis (Sherri) and Doreen Fullmer (Jaret); Grandchildren: Michael Gallagher, Kayla Marrero (Angel), Karissa Vandever, Hayden Dougherty, Kelsey Vandever, Connor Dougherty (Rachel), Madison Laessig, Kaitlyn Seamans, Donovan Dougherty, Kevin Vandever, Grace Davis, Kyle Vandever, Ryan Davis, Brady Fullmer and Riley Fullmer; Great-grandchildren: Santino Marrero, Mason Bowers, Alayna Marrero, Dakota Dougherty and Karter Crosby; Sister-In-Law: Dolores Lewandowski; Mother-In-Law: Ann Kinkle; Brother-In-Law: William Kinkle (Donna). Mick was predeceased by his mother, Marie Winifred “Mahoney” Davis, aunt who raised him, Elizabeth Lewandowski, and brother, William Lewandowski. Mick served in the United States Air Force as a Sgt. in the 92nd Security Police Squad where he was a Dog Handler during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to civilian life, Mick married the love of his life in 1969 and they set down roots in Philadelphia PA. As their family grew Mick & Sue made Tacony their home for the next few decades. Over the years Mick was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather and community leader. He dedicated much of his adult life (35+ years) to the Boy Scouts of America where he was instrumental in shaping the lives of many scouts over several decades. Mick made a difference in the lives of many scouts over the years as a mentor, friend, scout master, and leader. As his hair turned white and he grew older and rounder, Mick played his most important role of all, Santa Claus. Family and friends are invited to his viewing (while observing social distancing) on Tuesday June 2, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:45 AM at the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home located at 507 West Avenue, Jenkintown, PA 19046. A private service for the family will take place at 12:00 PM. His private interment will be at 2:00 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown PA.
