<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Kenneth P Butke, LTC, Ret, passed away on 26 May 2020 while in Memory Care at Brookdale Bath in Akron OH.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ken graduated from St Mary&#39;s High School in Akron, OH in 1958. He worked at Acme while attending the University of Akron. He completed his baccalaureate with a B.A. In Education and a commission from ROTC as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corp. He retired from active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving for 22 years with two tours in Vietnam.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was a Cleveland Browns fan his entire life and a great lover of collies, always having at least two by his side over the last fifty years.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was predeceased by his wife, Diane, a retired Colonel in the US Army Nurse Corps.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ken is survived by his only brother, Bill (Patricia); Nephew, James; Nieces, Kathleen and Kristin;</p> <p>Sister-in-Law, Gail Ankerson.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp; Per Mr. Butke&#39;s wishes, cremation has taken place.&nbsp; A Memorial&nbsp;Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.&nbsp; Inurnment of Mr. Butke&#39;s cremains will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.</p>

       Kenneth P Butke, LTC, Ret, passed away on 26 May 2020 while in Memory Care at Brookdale Bath in Akron OH.

       Ken graduated from St Mary's High School in Akron, OH in 1958. He worked at Acme while attending the University of Akron. He completed his baccalaureate with a B.A. In Education and a commission from ROTC as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corp.        He was a Cleveland Browns fan his entire life and a great lover of collies, always having at least two by his side over the last fifty years.

       Ken is survived by his only brother, Bill (Patricia); Nephew, James; Nieces, Kathleen and Kristin;

Sister-in-Law, Gail Ankerson. 

  Per Mr. Butke's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.  Inurnment of Mr. Butke's cremains will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
