Kenneth P Butke
<p> Kenneth P Butke, LTC, Ret, passed away on 26 May 2020 while in Memory Care at Brookdale Bath in Akron OH.</p> <p> Ken graduated from St Mary's High School in Akron, OH in 1958. He worked at Acme while attending the University of Akron. He completed his baccalaureate with a B.A. In Education and a commission from ROTC as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corp. He retired from active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving for 22 years with two tours in Vietnam.</p> <p> </p> <p> He was a Cleveland Browns fan his entire life and a great lover of collies, always having at least two by his side over the last fifty years.</p> <p> He was predeceased by his wife, Diane, a retired Colonel in the US Army Nurse Corps.</p> <p> Ken is survived by his only brother, Bill (Patricia); Nephew, James; Nieces, Kathleen and Kristin;</p> <p>Sister-in-Law, Gail Ankerson. </p> <p> Per Mr. Butke's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319. Inurnment of Mr. Butke's cremains will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.</p>Obituary
