With her loving children and grandchildren by her side, Dolores Mae Grady died peacefully on May 26, 2020 at the Dunlap Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa.

Born September 4, 1924 in Honey Creek, Iowa, Dolores was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Wendell Grady, her daughter, Rosemary Grady, her parents, Leo and Mayme (Thomas) Moran, her brother, Thomas Moran and her sister, Joan Moran Walters. A graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dolores subsequently worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Omaha, Nebraska, before her    marriage.

Descended from a long line of Iowa farm women, Dolores Grady exemplified the virtues of self-reliance and hard work. As a young newlywed, she came to the Grady farm south of Dunlap, where over the years, she raised seven children. Her organizational and domestic skills were unsurpassed. Her knowledge of cooking, baking and canning was extraordinary with no detail left undone. Family, friends and neighbors shared many a fine meal while gathered around her kitchen table.

Dolores was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She also served as the family archivist spending countless hours compiling albums of family history spanning seven generations. For this, her own descendants will be forever grateful.

Dolores is survived by her children, Patrick Grady, Logan, Iowa, Dr. Ann Burress, Redondo Beach, California, Suzanne Grady, Fort Myers, Florida, James (Jane) Grady, Dunlap, Iowa, Sara Grady (Robert Bledsoe), Scottsdale, Arizona, and Maureen (Daniel) Grady Morales, Atlanta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph (Leona) Moran of Honey Creek, Iowa, Paul Moran of Denver, Colorado, and Dale (Sally) Moran, of Phoenix, Arizona.; she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
