<p>Walter M. Janton, 99, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020.</p> <p>Walter was a World War II Veteran of U.S. Army of the 184th infantry 7th division and Tech 4th grade- Sergant,. His special skills included: sharpshooter M1 rifle and radio operator. His campaigns included: Aleutian Islands, Southern Philippines Islands, Central Pacific - Marshal Islands, Ryukyus- Okinawa. His Decorations included: Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars.</p> <p>Beloved husband of the late Mary Janton. Devoted father of Regina (Christopher) Carter. Dear brother of the late Bertha Seltzer, the late Josephine Weber and the late Jerri Corp. Loving grandfather of Kristina, Ryan and the late Randy. Loving uncle of Joseph Seltzer (Lillian) and Linda Doroba (John). Long time friend of 48 years Arye Rosen ( Daniella). Close friend of the family Larry Ludden (Suzanne). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends. </p> <p>Walter love his family to the fullest and lived life to the fullest with a firm connection with the Lord. He was a mechanical genius, skilled inventor, awesome dancer, master storyteller and truly a wonderful man. He loved strong and he received that love in return. Anyone who met him, made an instant friend. He enjoyed boating, fishing and being on the water.</p> <p>Walter started his career in 1972, after spending a number years in the AT&T laboratory with RCA, where he met his long time friend of 48 years Arye Rosen. He was nicknamed the mechanical genius who contributed enormously to the laboratory success. He is acknowledged in many patents and publications found on Google Scholar. After retirement, Walter and Arye still worked with a number of physicians at Jefferson University Hospital and University of Pennsylvania Hospital on innovative projects in the field of medicine. Walter also mentored many graduate students at Drexel University. Larry Ludden worked closely with Walter on his own personal patents, including The Forever Flying Flag.</p> <p>Walter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Walter and Larry spent many hours discussing his 58 inventions. He was "Super Patriotic" and had 15 inventions for the American Flag. His daughter Regina, son-in-law chris and grandchildren Kristina and Ryan, enjoyed spending time with him, having many family celebrations and will forever be missed.
