Elder Larry Brown was born the sixth of nine children to the late Georgia Brown Clinkscale and Joe Brown on February 6, 1956, in Knoxville, Tennessee He attended Knox County Public Schools and graduated (ahead of his class) from Holston High School in 1973. After graduation, he attended University of Tennessee and Lee Bible College in Cleveland, Tennessee for his Music and Bible education.  He received a certificate in carpentry, electrical and plumbing, from Tennessee Vocational Technical School.Elder Brown held leadership roles with various organizations and companies beginning with the Church of God in Christ.  For over 13 years,  he worked as a Project Manager in Nashville, Tennessee. He was  responsible for managing new construction of church projects. Other companies he was employed with were;  Council of Community Services (Facilities Manager), Nashville,  Tennessee, Coalition for the Homeless (Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Facilities, and Orlando Daycare (Teacher Assistant and Maintenance Manager, both in Orlando, Florida. He retired and worked on special projects and re-pairs  The last 2-1/2 years, he would get excited when it was time to go to work (on the weekends) at Willie’s BBQ in Montverde, Florida. He was employed there until his death.He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age of eleven years old and answered the call to the ministry at the age of twelve, under the leadership and tutelage of Bishop H. Jenkins Bell at Grace Tab-ernacle Church of God in Christ, Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1980, at the age of 24. He became an or-dained Elder. He was a devoted and faithful member and In the same year he was ordained, he was ap-pointed Adjutant Episcopal to Bishop Bell.  He served faithfully in this position for 10 years. Elder Brown remained under the leadership of Bishop Bell until his demise on June 22, 2002. He held many positions throughout the Church of God in Christ. While residing in Tennessee, he was the Head Mar-shall/Procedural Administrator in Tennessee Second Jurisdiction (1988-1990), Adjutant Overseer for Praise and Worship, and Communion in Tennessee Second Jurisdiction (1994-1996). in the 1990’s, he served in the role of Pastoralship. From 1991-1996, he pastored Pentecostal Temple COGIC, Algood, Tennessee. In1997, he founded and pastored Redeemed Institutional Church (a subsidiary of R.I.C. Min-istries). He was a unique but powerful preacher and a skillful musician and anointed songster. He served as Chairman, Committee of Ordination and Credentials, Tennessee First (1996-2000) and Tennessee Second Jurisdiction (1994-1995),  Founder and Dean of Elders Preparation Institute, Tennessee Eastern First Jurisdiction, Founder of R.I.C. Ministries (1997), Chairman of the Commission for Holiness Taber-nacle, Tennessee (2002). In Florida,  he was appointed Dean of Adjutancy of Western Florida (2001-2002), Superintendent of Headquarters District, Florida Western Jurisdiction, Superintendent of Sunday School, (then) Bay Street COGIC (2006-2007), Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors (2008-2014), Winter Garden, Florida. In 2014, he created and organized the UNITED IN ORLANDO.  Since 2002, he was an active member of the National Adjutancy (Registration Staff), in the Church of God in Christ. In 2011, he created 2 training tools: The Bishops’ Care Package (for Armor Bearers, Adjutant Apostolic and National Adjutants) and Communion instructions for training in the local church, he proper protocol with Han-dling/Peroration & Presentation of the Lord's Body).Elder Brown was a family man. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. On June 27, 2009, he married in holy matrimony, Geszel Kyle Brown in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a father figure to his children and he always cherished every moment when they visited and spent time together.  He enjoyed laughter, he loved to laugh and make others laugh too. He loved doing things with his hands, especially building projects, remodeling and designing homes and other special projects and repairs.  He built (himself), his home church Grace Tabernacle (now Trinity Tabernacle) COGIC, Knoxville Tennessee,  from the ground up and still remains there at 2615 Washington Avenue.  His hobbies were: fishing, read-ing, cooking. His most recent hobby was taking interest in being a seamster. He was never intimidated of being the only male in the sewing class he often attended with his wife. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Elder Brown transitioned from this life to eternal rest, on Monday, May 25, 2020. Preceded him in death: His parents; Stepfather: James Clinkscale; Brothers:    Eddie, Joe Jr., and James Brown; Nephew (Just Like A Brother): Adrian Brown and Sisters: Beloved Sister and Other Mother: Estelle Carter (and her husband Tom  Carter) and Elizabeth Nelson.He leaves to cherish his memories: A Loving and Devoted Wife: Geszel Kyle Brown: 3 Children: Jona-than Brown (ShaRonda), Richmond, Virginia, Ebony Brown, Trinity, Florida and Amir Saleem, Orlan-do, Florida; 3  Siblings: George Brown,  Arnold Brown and Ethel Lake Styles (James), all of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2  Brother-in  laws: Melvin kyle, Jr. (Jackie) and Troy Kyle (Erica), both of Knoxville, Tennessee; 3  Grandchildren: Markayla Brown,  Patrick Brown,  and Sariah Grimes, Trinity, Florida; 3 Godchildren:   Renaye Brown, Kailyn Walwyn, Abygail Davis, all of Orlando, Florida; A host of cousins, other relatives and friends.  Special  Friends: Pastor Saul  Eady, Beryl  Perkins and Mother Dorothy Ware.
