Michael R Fierro Obituary

On Memorial Day Dos Palos lost a true friend and patriot.  Michael Fierro went home to Our Heavenly Father on the 25th of May 2020.  He was fifty-four years old.  He was born April 22, 1966 in Fowler CA to Rudy and Irene Fierro.  He was the oldest of two boys.  Michael grew up in Dos Palos and was voted, “Least Likely to be Found in Class.”  He met Diane on August 18th, 1983.  Mike was going to be a senior and Diane was going to be a freshman.  Mike and Diane met at the carwash where Mike was washing his notorious 1968 Dodge Dart 270.  The three have been together ever since.  Mike and Diane have always had a passion for animals.  They loved their fur-babies as their children. Pickles, Arlie, and Jethero will miss their dad, and I’m sure that he was welcomed at the Gate by his fur-babies that had already crossed through the Rainbow Bridge.

Mike’s dream was to help others in their times of need.  That’s why he decided to attended San Francisco Mortuary of Science and graduated at the head of his class in 1998.  He worked very hard in San Jose for 12 years honing his skills and techniques.  His wish was to help as many families in their time of need and to bring his talents to his hometown of Dos Palos.  Mike and Diane moved back to Dos Palos and re-imagined the First Christian Church on Golden Gate.  They remodeled the Church and opened Fierro Family Funeral Home on October 15, 2012. To honor Mike’s memory, the staff at the funeral home will continue to serve our community with the same passion and commitment that Mike envisioned.  Fierro Family Funeral Home will continue to serve the Dos Palos and coming soon, the Chowchilla community.

Mike had a passion for Community Service.  He immediately became involved in the Bronco Radio Station KDPT Bronco Radio.  He became a Radio Station Board Member and announced football games for the past seven years with his buddy, Joe Lerner.   Mike had a special place in his heart for Veteran’s and volunteered whenever he could.  Always going the extra mile to help out his fellow man.  Make no mistake, Diane is a force in her own right and together they have walked the Grateful Golden Road of Life.  Making their decisions together and facing life at full throttle.  Mike loved a good Dead Show with his friends.  Finding the Miracles along the way always saying, “What a Long, Strange Trip it’s Been.”

Mike leaves behind his guardian angel, Diane, who was there with him through life.  Mike also leaves behind his doting parents, Rudy and Irene Fierro, his brother, Mark Fierro and wife Melissa and nephew, Ryan Fierro.  Mike will be missed by his Brother-in-laws, Tim, Tom, Jim, Jeff, and Rick Neal.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Adriana Nordgren, and her daughter Ariana. Timothy, Tyler and Dylan Neal, Tiffany and Clarence Clark, Nancy, Brian, and Jeffrey Neal and many more.  Mike was preceded in death by his In-laws, Wimp and Sonia Neal and his Sister in law Debbie Neal.  And Finally he has left behind his fur-babies, Pickles, Arlie, and Jethero.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday May 30, 2020 at the Dos Palos District Cemetery at 10 AM followed by a private reception.
