Irene Gibbs

Irene (Galvin) Gibbs, born on a Sunday, December 26, 1926. Went home to the Lord on Monday, May 25, 2020. She was the sister of the (late) June, (late) Buddy, (late) Doris and Jack. Her many cousins were like sisters and brothers, and she cherished each and every one of them. On May 8, 1946, she and Lloyd married in St. Helen Church, and they celebrated this marriage for 60 years, and 3 months, when God called Lloyd “Home”. When they became foster parents to 52 children, they were blessed with the adoption of 5 of those children, adding to the family of Sharon and Bryan, were Robin, Bruce, Mark, Michael, and Christina. Lloyd joined sons Bryan and Bruce in Heaven. They are so missed. 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Shannon, Sarah, Colin, Jamie, Mitchell, Daniel, Cameron, and Tyler, and 5 great grandchildren, Joshuah and Madisyn, Harlow, Violet, and Carter, joined the family in later years. Sisters-in-law were dear to Irene’s heart, (late) Art and Doris, (late) Norman and Dalores, (late Cecil and wife June, (late) Ken and Robin, (late) Bill and Ida, and Glen and (late) Myrna. When Irene was 5, her Dad, Ambrose, placed her in her the second foster home of her life. A truly welcoming home for a small child. She was made to feel as a true daughter of this family of Chris and Helen Eadie, and their wonderful daughter Elenor. Several happy years were spent within this family, so it was a wrench to all of us when I had to leave them to live with my father, grandmother, sister and uncles. Three cheers to caring foster parents!!! You are special. I end with saying, I’ve loved everyone in my life from the moment of conception to my last breath on Earth. All babies deserve to live and fulfill their lives. God created them. Hope to see you in Heaven. Love Irene (Galvin) Gibbs
