Andrew Joseph Rodriguez

Andrew Joseph Rodriguez, 60, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on May 25th, 2020. He was born in the back of an ambulance in Bussac France. His family roots were from Puerto Rico and Louisiana. Andy is survived by his loving family, his wife Tracy , daughter Jordan, and a grandson who was like a son to him, Jack. He is also survived by a daughter Jessica (David), a son Ryan (India), a step-daughter Kristine (Dale), and step-daughter Jamie (Corey). His grandchildren Samantha, Anya, Felicity, Dylan, Anna, Ryan Jr., Kaitlyn, Ryson and a step granddaughter Kiarra. He had two brothers, David ( Shayeste) and Angel (Tammie), a sister Pam (Connie), an Aunt, Betty Hyden along with a very special niece Nicole Woitella ( Bret) and several cousins. Family Member Matthew, who Andy called “Bodean” (Andrea). Ilena and Billy Johnson who referred to the family as their adopted children. Andy was a graduate of Denbigh High school, class of 1977 He loved his fellow graduates. Andy completed an apprenticeship at Newport News Apprentice School in 1982. He was a supervisor at Newport News from 1977-1996, and then moved on to Tampa Bay Shipbuilding, Atlantic Marine / Alabama shipyard. In 2008 he started his own company, supplying skilled blue collar crafts people to shipyards, fab shops, & industrial projects. He had two employees in his office, Deborah Cox and Theresa Dickson who were there for the family as well as the business. He and his wife Tracy were married for almost 22 years. They enjoyed the art of collecting Disney and Batman collectibles. Andy loved golfing, fishing, playing his guitar, singing, and going to the casinos. He was always looking for a deal, he loved to negotiate. He was also a master storyteller. This man will be missed by all who met him, he only needed a minute to make a lasting impression.
