<p>Larry Joe Goodman, 78, of Linton, Indiana, left this earthly life and entered Heaven on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born on July 16, 1941, in Linton, to Edgar and Pearl (Spurgeon) Goodman. Larry married the love of his life, Audrey S. (Higar), on October 11, 1959.</p> <p>Larry worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Co. and as a minister of the gospel for over 45 years. He was a member of UMWA Local 1410 Dist. 11 and the FOP #105. Larry served our great nation in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. &nbsp;He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his leisure time and especially enjoyed attending sporting events in which his grandchildren and great-grandson participated. Family meant everything to Larry and made it a point to spend quality time with them.&nbsp; He will be sorely missed.</p> <p>Family left to cherish the memory of Larry include: two sons, Tim (Tammy) Goodman of Linton, Randy (Dawn) Goodman of Tennessee; grandchildren, Josh (Danielle) Goodman of Linton, Jordan (Lindsay) Goodman of Clinton; great-grandson, Cameron Goodman; and his brother, Ott E. (Elizabeth) Goodman of Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrey; sisters, Delores Hogue and Marilyn Dailey; brothers, Dick, Don, Howard and Ronald Goodman.</p> <p>A private Graveside Service to honor the life of Larry will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Pastor John Winders officiating. Graveside Military rites with American Legion Post #22 will follow.</p> <p>There will be no public visitation.</p> <p>Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenburn Special Care Unit through the funeral home.</p> <p>All arrangements were entrusted to Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton.
