Clifford "Dickie" Dewayne Painter

Clifford “Dickie” Dewayne Painter, 69, a resident of Cleveland TN passed into eternal life at his home on Saturday, May 23, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born in Bradley County on September 18, 1950 a son of the late William “Bill” Painter and Frances Fairbanks Painter. Dickie served time honoring our country in the National Guards and was an active member in the Cleveland Bassmasters Club. Dickie was a faithful member of West Cleveland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sound technician, and custodian for many years. After retiring from Carter Distributing Company where he worked as warehouse manager for 35 years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by his deer hunting friends, the Giles County gang, and all the regulars at Fishtales where he loved “hanging out”. Dickie leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Connie Lewis Painter, a son, Corey (Stephanie), and two precious grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Eli and Easton Painter. He also leaves behind a sister in law and brother in law, Sam and Kaye Allen, brother in law and sister in law, Kenny and Cynthia Lewis, a special aunt, Elizabeth Evans (Marlon), several cousins, and a host of friends including his very special friend that was like a son, Joe Burns. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 28, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation time at 8:00 PM with Pastor Kenny Isbill officiating. The interment and committal service will take place on Friday morning, May 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Sam Allen, John Fox, Joe Burns, Wayne Cline, David Neely, and Andrew Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of West Cleveland Baptist.
