Colchester – Elaine Cynthia Sorrell, 66, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, May 25, 2020 with her loving husband and family by her side. Elaine was born on August 28, 1953 in Burlington, the daughter of Bernard and Catherine (Mitchell) Basiliere. She attended Burlington High School and held various positions at the University of Vermont Medical Center, her favorite position was working at the coffee kiosk, and will be missed by the medical staff who enjoyed her “Friday Dance”. She loved to go for rides, her beloved dog Cory, was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, camping, board games, card games and spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren. She was married to Robin Sorrell on August 6, 2011. She is survived by her husband Robin of Colchester and her children Jennifer Bouchard and her husband Tim of Georgia, John Bushway and his wife Leann of TN., Boyd Booska and his wife Sarah of Colchester, and Larrs Hardy and his wife Rachael of Montgomery, her grandchildren Katie, Alexis, Jenna, Brandon, Alivia, Elizabeth, Dom, Devin, Savanah, Rohan and Brielle. She is also survived by brothers and sisters Joyce Bleau, Barbara Bushway, Bernard Basiliere, Mary Moore and husband Chris and Sue Sterling and husband Aaron and by several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Cynthia Sorrell, her brothers –in-laws and sister-in-laws Scott Sorrell and his wife Jennifer, Wendy Sorrell and Julie Poland and her husband Chad and three nephews Dylan, Brian and Deagan. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Shirley Ward and her nephew Ernie “Cricket” Sterling. At Elaine’s request, there will be no services at this time.
