Velma "June" Pritchard, 93, passed away Friday, May 22nd, 2020, in Gadsden, Alabama. She was born September 17, 1926 to Otis and Julia Ann (Cavitt) Snoddy. June married her late husband, Daniel, on Christmas Eve in 1945. They were married for over 55 years and resided in West Frankfort for most of that time, but also enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Florida. June was a devout Christian and a member of Bethel Community Church in Benton, Illinois. June was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by many. In her younger years, June enjoyed working in the garden, swimming, shopping for her collectibles and crocheting beautiful pieces for her grandchildren. She was also an avid cook. She is survived by two sons, Paul and Daniel J. Pritchard of West Frankfort, IL and one daughter, Brenda (Richard) Acray of Gadsden, Al; grandchildren, Michelle (Clinton) Bigham of Herrin, IL, Emily (Tom) Bade and Jeremy Acray both of Gadsden, AL, Stephen (Hayley) Pritchard of Opelika, AL and Matthew (Katie) Acray of Makanda, IL. Great-grandchildren include: Kayla (Alex) Liebenrood, Chase Bigham, Julia and Will Bade, Alawyn, Abriel, Caleb, and Rayna Acray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel P. Pritchard; a son, David Pritchard; and a daughter-in-law, Mona Pritchard. .June spent her final years in Gadsden, AL with her daughter, Brenda, and her family. Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort. A memorial service will be planned for a future date in Gadsden, Al. Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.September 17, 1926 - May 22, 202009/17/192605/22/2020
