Letha Jean Deaton Smith, age 65, of Elkins, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017. She was born February 4, 1952 in Fayetteville, the daughter of Lloyd and Norene Atteberry Deaton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J. O. Deaton and three sisters, Lora Dean, Lola June and Lela Fay Deaton. She worked as a waitress and was a member of Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Shawna Welch and her husband Charlie; two sons, Jason Smith and his wife Tori and Randall Smith; five grandsons, Chance, Braiden, Bennie, Lathen and Little Jason; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Dharma, Schellby and Jenna; a sister, Lena Mae Deaton Combs and her husband Hubert; a sister-in-law, Mary Deaton; many many nieces and nephews and honorary kids and grand kids and many special friends, too many to list. Visitation will be 3:00 pm 5:00 pm, Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Moores Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday at Fayetteville First Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow at Combs Cemetery, under the direction of Moores Chapel.
