<p>Bernard Nicholas Van Steyn, 88, husband of June Van Steyn, of Summerville, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020.</p> <p>A private Memorial Service was held at Parks Funeral Home. Interment will be private at a later date.&nbsp;</p> <p>Van was born on August 11, 1931 in Vineland, New Jersey. He was the son of Nicholas and Magdelina Van Steyn. Van was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, A veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked for the civil service. He was a member of The Veterans Association. He was an avid square dancer and a member of The Swamp Stompers, Harmony Squares, Patio Promenaders, Plus Squares and A-Squares International Dancers Association. He was a SC Federation representative and served as a Representative for the National convention for three years. He danced throughout the United States and Canada. He was also an avid camper with Holiday Campers &amp; The Good Sam Club. He was a member of the Charleston Rod &amp; Reel club and served as a Master Gardener for 14 years volunteering at Cypress,Middleton and Magnolia Gardens and Boone Hill Plantation.</p> <p>Van is survived by his wife, June Van Steyn; daughters, Lori Fox and Sharon Bunch; Step Children, David Decker, Angela Stice, Debra Evans and Leah Smoak; his sisters, Seine Scapalotta, Annie Reale, Betty Negre and Mary Farmacino. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.</p> <p>Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483.</p>
