Marlene Babe Vandale

Marlene Vandale, late of St. Louis, passed away on May 18, 2020 at her home at the age of 70 years with family and friends by her side. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we say goodbye to our wife and mom. Mom enjoyed cooking, baking, family visits, gatherings, praying and family trips. She loved spending time with those who meant so much to her especially her children and grandchildren. Mom loved God, going to the Shrine, praying and saying the Rosary. Mom loved watching her favourite shows, Heartland, Highway to Heaven, Threes Company, Little House on the Prairie, and the Waltons with dad by her side. They spent many days enjoying themselves, laughing and having their special time together. Mom was born to Eva (Lafontaine) and Albert Richard on Oct 8th, 1949. She attended school in St. Louis. At the age of 16, she married dad, Edward T (Sonny) Vandale on August 18, 1967. They had four children, raised a nephew and raised many foster children who still call mom’s house, home. Mom was a very hard and dedicated worker. She worked at the St. Louis Rehabilitation Center for 20 years until her retirement. Mom loved working and keeping busy, she did many odd jobs right up till the age of 70. Mom took pride in doing for others whether it was working, cleaning, organizing, volunteering, baking, cooking, or watching kids.
