<p>Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. of Bennettsville, SC departed this earthly life on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Duke University in Durham, NC.</p> <p>He was born on July 11, 1958 to the late Lee Curtiss Stanton Sr. and Ollie Mae Stanton.</p> <p>Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. was a 1977 graduate of Clio High School. He united in marriage on July 14, 1979 (40 years) to the former Gladys Thomas and to this union two children were born.</p> <p>Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. served in the military for six years and then worked for J.P. Stevens, Galey &amp; Lord and as a landscaper in Marlboro County and surrounding areas for a number of years.</p> <p>Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and made it known in every conversation when the word &ldquo;football&rdquo; was mentioned.</p> <p>At an early age he was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he served as a lay speaker. Later he joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.</p> <p>Lee was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Doris McLeod and Ella Mae McRae.</p> <p>To celebrate his life and cherish his memories he leaves his wife of forty years, Gladys Stanton; two sons, Curtiss (Sharon) Stanton and Raek&rsquo;Quan Stanton; son/grandson, Daiquari Stanton and Andrew Thompson (godson) all of Bennettsville, SC; three grandchildren, Tayana, Tyra and Curtiss Stanton Jr., six brothers, Jerome (Renee) Stanton, Ronnie (Erica) Stanton and Charles Stanton all of Clio, SC; John (ethel) Stanton of Bennettsville, SC, James (Patty) Stanton and Tyrone Stanton both of Charlotte, NC; one aunt Minnie Hairston of Winston- Salem, NC; one uncle Talmadge (Mary) Stanton of Clio, SC; brother-in-law Fletcher Thomas and Tommy Thomas of Bennettsville, SC; Donald (Cheryl) McKiver of Rockingham, NC, Michael (Sharon) McKiver of South Korea, Howard McRae Sr. of Clio, SC and&nbsp; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. of Bennettsville, SC departed this earthly life on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Duke University in Durham, NC.

He was born on July 11, 1958 to the late Lee Curtiss Stanton Sr. and Ollie Mae Stanton.

Lee Curtiss Stanton Jr. was a 1977 graduate of Clio High School. He united in marriage on July 14, 1979 (40 years) to the former Gladys Thomas and to this union two children were born.
