Fay Johnson Hunley, age 86, of Oxford, Michigan, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 following a brief illness. 

Beloved wife of Britt for 66 years; loving mother and best friend of Sheri (Dave Larson) Caverly; dear sister of Sylvia Runyon, Volena (late Nick) Dorazio, Wendell (Eula) Johnson and Lem (Christina) Johnson; sister-in-law of Robert Hunley and Elvin (Denise) Hunley; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Daughter of the late Lee Finley Johnson and Byrda Jane Tipton Johnson, Fay was born and raised in Pathfork, Kentucky.

Employment opportunity at General Motors brought Fay and Britt to Michigan in 1954. Fay worked in supervisory roles and later became an executive at GM Truck & Bus. She lived and loved her life to the fullest. She enjoyed animals, gardening, being outdoors, music and loved to help others. 

Fay has spent the last three years at Lake Orion Nursing Home where she made many new friends, enjoyed the activities, comradery and became close friends with her roommate Julie Schweitzer – they enjoyed many hours of music together. 

The family will receive friends in Michigan on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. Fay will then be going “home” with services in Kentucky. 

The family will recieve friends in Middlesboro on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home in Middlesboro, Kentucky. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Oplinger presiding. Burial will be in the Saylor Cemetery in Pathfork, Kentucky.
