Virginia Katherine Howell

Virginia Katherine Howell, age 78 years, a resident of the Crystal Springs Community, Elkins, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mountain Hospice. She was born Monday, April 6, 1942 at Beverly, WV a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Rosie Lee Watson Howell. She was twice married. First, to Joseph Conti, who preceded her in death. Second, to Jesse Ramsey, who survives. Surviving are two sons, Robert William Conti and wife Crystal, and Joseph Anthony Conti, all of Elkins; two daughters, Virginia Diane Currence and husband Rick of Hodgesville, Rosemary Elizabeth Cutright and husband Randy of Alexander; three brothers, Donnie Howell and wife Joyce, Jimmie Howell, and Johnny Howell, all of Beverly; three sisters, Norma Chambers of Beverly, Marie Burdge and husband Raymond of Spring Run, PA, Luceba Graham and husband Delmas of Beverly; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are seven brothers, Willie, Burlin, Okey, Otto, Rich, Bruce, and Thomas Howell; and one sister, Roanna Howell. Virginia attended the schools of Beverly, was a homemaker, a Pentecostal by faith, and enjoyed gardening. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Friday from 9 to 11 AM. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11 AM. The Rev. Robert Conti will officiate and interment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery on the Georgetown Road, Beverly, WV. For the protection of those in attendance, everyone attending the Visitation and Funeral Service are asked to adhere to local social distancing requirements.
