Thelma Domantay Bibay Obituary

*** ONLY 10 IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES AT DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY *** Thelma Domantay Bibay born December 3, 1933 in Tayug Pagasinan Philippines to Roque and Felicidad Domantay. She would be their only child. Her father Roque passed away when she was only a baby and Felicidad never remarried. Raised by her mother, with the help of other family members, Thelma grew up surrounded by love. Thelma attended Tayug elementary, then went on to study at the Tayug national high school. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Santo Thomas University where she earned a Bachelor's degree of Science in Education. Thelma went on to become a teacher at the School of the Deaf and Blind. Thelma would meet her husband Crescencio Bibay Sr. who was also a teacher at a nearby school, where coincidentally Thelma's mother taught. Thelma and Crescencio were married on February 4, 1968. Soon after they welcomed their first child Crescencio Jr., Thelma and Crescencio Sr. moved to the United States. Crescencio went first in 1969, then Thelma followed a little time later. They stayed with friends and family in downtown San Francisco, in what is now known as "Sheridan", a street that they lived on for a while. Eventually Thelma and Crescencio would move into a house of their own in Daly City Ca. Thelma and Crescencio had their second child in 1975 and named her Cheryl. Thelma worked at an office in downtown San Francisco until she found a job at the United States postal service. She would work there for over 30 years where she made countless friends who she kept in touch with even after her retirement. Thelma and her family were blessed to have so many caring friends and relatives who through the years provided them with support and love. Thelma lived a very devout life: she attended mass on a daily basis and was very generous with her donations to support the Church. Thelma passed away peacefully at her home in San Francisco with her son and daughter by her side. Thelma is survived by her children Crescencio, Jr. and Maria (wife), grandchildren (Marlene and Daniel), and great grandchildren (Noah and Audrey). Cheryl and Eric (husband), grandchildren Eliza, Ciera, Elana and Eric Jason, Jr. Thelma and her family would like to thank everyone who has supported us during this difficult time. Your love has definitely helped. Please continue to pray for Thelma.
