Erik Anthony Welch

Erik Anthony Welch, resident of Fraser, died peacefully May 22, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family. He was 48 years of age. Erik was born in Pontiac, Michigan on May 7, 1972, son of Robert and Elizabeth (Pattison) Welch. He was a 1991 graduate of Oxford High School, where he ran track and took Oxford to the very first State Championship. He still holds school records!! After graduation, Eric served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Shelly Ann, on July 18, 2019 in South Haven. He has worked for Bolyard Lumber for 25 dedicated years. Erik loved the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and camping. He was always humble and kind; and had a calming nature about him. He will always be known for his great sense of humor, his hardworking hands and his generosity to others. Erik was baptized into Catholic Faith, fought a courageous battle and now has won victory with his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever. Erik is the beloved husband of Shelly; cherished father of Tyler and Steven; dear step-father of Cody and the late Caitlyn Gohr; dearest son of Robert and Liz; and loving brother of Mike (Patty) and Robert (Rhonda). Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Thursday from 4pm - 8pm. A Mass will be celebrated with Father Gregory on Friday at 11am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Catholic Church, 18720 E. 13 Mile Road, Roseville. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
