<p>Vinod Parekh, age 83, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020, peacefully in his home.</p> <p>Vinod was born May 11, 1937, in Mahuva, Gujarat in India, to Laxmidas Parekh and Prabhavati (Gandhi) Parekh. He lived most of his life in Mumbai, India. Vinod set an example with his simple living, high thinking and was truly a gentleman in all his manners. Always, thinking about others’ comforts. He inspired his children and grandchildren to do their best, and always know that sky is the limit to how high you can soar. Always optimistic about life, Vinod loved Mumbai and always missed India, and was very proud of achievements by his children and grandchildren in America. He enjoyed all good and simple things in life including Ganthiya, his soul food, along with a good cup of Masala tea in the morning.</p> <p>Vinod is survived by his wife, Ushaben Parekh (76 years); sons, Manish (and Shilpa) Parekh, in Mumbai, India and Parin (and Jignya) Parekh, in Newburgh, Indiana; grandchildren, Nidhi Parekh , Rishi Parekh, and Ramya Parekh; sister, Niruben Mehta of Mumbai, India; brother, Parimal (and Charu) Parekh of Mumbai, India.</p> <p>Vinod is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dinaben Bhuta.</p> <p>Visitation and Prayers will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 starting at 10:00 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.
