Scott William Lamer Obituary

Scott William Lamer, 95, of Decker’s Point, died Friday, May 22, 2020 at Sunny Hill Personal Care Home, Indiana. Born in Green Township March 21, 1925, he was a son of the late Delvin Lamer and Eva Mae (Keith) Lamer. He was the husband of Bernetta (Adams) Lamer. Scott served in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. After returning home, he worked for many years as a dairy farmer and a steel worker for Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown. He was a true outdoorsman, who loved working on his farm, and hunting deer and small game. He’s remembered by his wife, Bernetta, and his children: Georgia Smith, of Uniontown; and Douglas Lamer, of Marion Center. He will also be missed by his 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beryl (Keith) Lamer; son-in-law, Ronald Smith; daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann (King) Lamer; and his siblings: Leo Lamer; Edna Shultz; Beryl Bracken; and Lilly Lewis. The Lamer Family wishes to thank the staff at Rustic Manor, Sunny Hill Personal Care Home and the VNA Hospice of Indiana County for the loving care Scott received. The Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer is assisting with the service arrangements. Cremation is at the Rairigh-Bence Crematory. Interment will be in the McDowell Cemetery.
