Fannie Ruth Waters Obituary

Fannie Ruth Waters, age 82, of Baxley, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Hazlehurst Court & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Waters was born on July 26, 1937 in Atkinson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Steve Corbitt and Mary Grace Wright Corbitt.

She retired as a Seamstress with Hazlehurst Lingerie and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Waters, son Joey Trowell and nine siblings (4 brothers & 5 sisters).

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Trowell of Baxley, GA, Ellen Trowell of Baxley, GA and Darlene Whittle (Doc) of Cobbtown, GA; son, Steve Trowell (Brenda) of Jesup, GA; two sisters, Angela Christopher of Axson, GA and Glenda Corbitt of Douglas, GA; brother, Wendell Corbitt of Douglas, GA; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Atkinson County, GA with Rev. Wayne “Rooster” Manning Jr officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Minton, Steve Trowell, Shane Gooch, and Cody Trowell. Musical selections will be “Broken Halo”, “If There is a Phone in Heaven”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “Precious Memories” all by CD.

Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak, attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the Coronavirus, including social distancing of six feet of separation.
