Dorothy “Dottie” Sue Whitmire Burton, 64, of Portia, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020. Dottie was born on Saturday, December 24, 1955, in Rockford, Illinois, to Gerald and Barbara Gawf Whitmire. Dottie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, neighbor, and friend. Dottie is preceded in death by her son, Troy Burton. Dottie is survived by her husband, Gary Burton, of the home; her parents, Gerald and Barbara Gawf Whitmire; one son, Travis (Samantha) Burton, of Portia; daughter, Sara Burton, of Portia; brothers, Danny (Shelly) Whitmire, of Walnut Ridge, and David (Martha) Whitmire, of Mount Ida; grandchildren, Elijah Burton, of Pocahontas, Tabitha Vanover and Jordan Vanover, of Portia. Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. A memorial visitation will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
