JUDITH IRENE MCKENZIE PH.D. Dr. Judith Irene McKenzie passed away on May 22, 2020 at Guelph General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Victoria McKenzie and her sister-in-law Rosalynne McKenzie. Beloved mother of David Oakes (Manitouwadge) and Bryan and Robyn Oakes (Shelburne). Dear grandmother of Chloe. Judith will be missed by siblings Robert and Susan Baker (Windsor), David and Joanne McKenzie (Kitchener), Maurice and Mary Pellarin (London). She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews as well as thirteen great nieces and nephews. Judith attended Walkerville Collegiate in Windsor. She received her undergraduate degree BES Bachelor of Environmental Science at University of Waterloo followed by a MA and PH.D in Political Science at University of Toronto. She greatly enjoyed her career as a Professor of Political Science at Wilfred Laurier, University of Toronto and University of Guelph; as well as author and co-author of several published books. Many thanks to the staff at Wellington Park, Guelph— where she enjoyed living for the last few years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, Guelph. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at this time. A private family celebration will be held at a later date on the beach in her beloved Bayfield, Ontario. Judith was passionate about Womens’ issues and mental health. As expressions of sympathy, condolences for the family or a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
