Janice Elaine "Jan" (McCullough) McGuyer

Janice Elaine "Jan" (McCullough) McGuyer, 73, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at her home. Jan was born in Evansville, Indiana on November 2, 1946, to the late Robert and Ruth (Umbach) McCullough. She was a 1964 graduate of Reitz High School where she played the saxophone in the band. Jan spent 19 years working for EVSC as a teacher assistant at McGary Middle School. She attended Bluegrass United Methodist Church and was previously a member of Albright United Methodist Church. Jan loved playing the organ at church during Sunday services. She was an avid Terri Lee doll collector and refurbished many dolls from the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. Jan enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, and was a wonderful cook and baker. Jan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Gene McGuyer of Evansville, IN; daughters, Gena Elaine McGuyer (John Olson, Jr.) of Evansville, IN, Amanda Gillard (Duane) of Winona Lake, IN, and Lalenia Mettle (Robert) of Rockport, IN; son, Matthew Michael McGuyer (Rebecca) of Evansville, IN; sisters, Marsha Booker (John) of Noblesville, IN and Linda Wilson (Scott) of Evansville, IN; brothers, Robert McCullough (Gail) and Steven McCullough (Nancy) both of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Zane Olson, Faedra Elaine McGuyer, Korah Elaine Gillard, Korban Gillard, Jack Gillard, Tristen Elaine Mettle, Lane Michael Mettle, Emilia McGuyer, and Opal Ann McGuyer. A private memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, PO Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719-6711.
