Randal J Cox

Randal J Cox, 97, of Brownsburg, Indiana passed away Friday, May 22nd, 2020. He was born May 12th, 1923 in Petersburg, Indiana to his parents William A. and Anna K. (Stone) Cox. He married Violet (Julian) Cox on May 14th, 1950. He was a resident of Petersburg, Indiana for 33 years and Camby, Indiana for 60 years. He has lived in Brownsburg, Indiana since 2016. Randal is survived by his loving wife, Violet (Julian) Cox of Brownsburg, they just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary; his two daughters: Sheila F. (Dan) Gagen of Fort Wayne and Elaine G. (Bill) Potter of Brownsburg; five grandchildren: Sarah Taylor, Timothy Gagen, Serena Johnson, David Potter and Isaac Potter; and one sister, Wilma Hardin. Randal is preceded in death by both of his parents; two brothers: Raymond Cox and Orris Cox; and five sisters: Velma Doades, Lena Catt, Geneva Reed, Dorothy Woodall, and Wanda Allison. Randal attended Otwell High School and later graduated from George Washington High School in Indianapolis. He also served in the Navy during World War II and later went on to attend Purdue Extension. He was a Lay Out Inspector for Chrysler for 23 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Camby Community Church. Randal was also a member of the Mooresville VFW Post #111. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and around the house. Randal loved spending time with his family. Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 to 11 am on Thursday, May 28th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Charles Paxton will officiate the service at 11 am on Thursday, May 28th at the funeral home. Randal will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
