Charlie Floyd Smith, Charles, 81, of Byhalia, MS, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Olive Branch, MS. Graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Tunica, MS. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Charles was born in Tunica, MS to James and Marie Bailey Smith on June 29, 1938. He worked as an Engineer/Conductor for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, raising birds, and farming. Charles is survived by his daughter, Miska Smith Davis of Acworth, GA, his granddaughters, Jodie Hannah and Janet Davis, and his great granddaughter, Daylene Hannah of Acworth, GA. He is survived by his brother(s); Vernon Smith, Hal Smith, Wiley Smith, and Jerry Smith, and his sister(s); Betty Lou Smith, Margaret Harpole, Vernice Porter, and Glenda Monsue. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Bailey Smith, and his brother Jimmy Smith, and sister Thelma Hale, and his daughter Misty Charlene Smith.
