<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Wilburn &ldquo;Bud&rdquo; Henry Andrew, 96, a resident of Shoshone passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in Lindon, Utah.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bud was born on November 28, 1923 in Rupert, Idaho, the second of three sons born to William Marian Andrew and Anna Mae Long Andrew.&nbsp; His father died in 1926 and his widowed mother married George H. Kenaston in 1929.&nbsp; Three more children were added to the blended family.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bud graduated from Shoshone High School in 1942, was drafted in 1943, and married Vivian Lorraine Claycomb of Jerome, Idaho in 1944. To this union was born their children - William Henry, Andrew and Pamela Jean Andrew.&nbsp; This marriage was later dissolved.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bud was drafted January 21, 1943 and served in the Army Air Corps and was assigned to the 98th Squadron Troop Carrier Command.&nbsp; On June 14, 1944, he arrived in England, missing the D-Day invasion at Normandy by 8 days. In the 14 months of overseas duty, he flew a countless number of re-supply or ferrying wounded missions, but only a total of 13 combat missions where they were actually fired on by the Germans.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After the war, Bud and his family returned to Shoshone, where he worked for several years before moving his family to California. Over the following 35 years, he worked at jobs in California and Idaho, retiring in 1988. He returned to live in Shoshone in 1997.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, oil painting, writing poetry, gardening, cooking, working on World War II airplane models, and family history.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He is survived by: his son - Bill (Brenna) Andrew of Gooding, Idaho; his daughter - Pam (Dan) Stowe of Provo, Utah; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; his brothers &ndash; George W. &ldquo;Casey&rdquo; Kenaston, and Clair Kenaston; and his sister - Judy Warren.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his brothers &ndash; Bill and Ralph; and his parents.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Shoshone Cemetery in Shoshone.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Funeral services are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service &ndash; Shoshone Chapel.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the V.F.W. or American Legion, or the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.</p>

     Wilburn “Bud” Henry Andrew, 96, a resident of Shoshone passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in Lindon, Utah.

     Bud was born on November 28, 1923 in Rupert, Idaho, the second of three sons born to William Marian Andrew and Anna Mae Long Andrew.  His father died in 1926 and his widowed mother married George H. Kenaston in 1929.  Three more children were added to the blended family.    

     Bud graduated from Shoshone High School in 1942, was drafted in 1943, and married Vivian Lorraine Claycomb of Jerome, Idaho in 1944. To this union was born their children - William Henry, Andrew and Pamela Jean Andrew.  This marriage was later dissolved.

     He was preceded in death by his brothers – Bill and Ralph; and his parents.

     A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Shoshone Cemetery in Shoshone.

     Funeral services are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Shoshone Chapel.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the V.F.W. or American Legion, or the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
