Charles H. Simpkins, Jr. Obituary

Charles H. Simpkins Jr., 58, of Franklinville, passed away suddenly on May 20th, 2020.

Beloved husband and best friend of Penny Simpkins (nee Ziegler) for 46 years, devoted father to Charles Simpkins (Lissette), Steven Simpkins (Jessica) and Stacy Brown (Shane), and adored Poppop to Jared, Alyssa, Emily, Hadleigh, Jameson and Brantley. Chuck is pre-deceased by his father and mother in-law, James and Delores Ziegler and his mother Juanita Dumas as well as his step-father Bob Roberts.

Chuck was a devoted husband to his wife, Penny. If you saw one of them, the other was never far behind. Their love story was one for the ages. Chuck was 15 and Penny was 14 when they met and they have been together and in love ever since, never spending more than a few days apart. Chuck was more than ahusband; he was Penny’s best friend.

Chuck was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons watching a good race. You could also find him riding with his sweetheart on their Harley Davidson. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his grandbabies and they absolutely adored their Poppop more than words can say.

Chuck was passionate about his career as a tow truck driver and never turned down the opportunity to do a run. Chuck was truly a jack-of-all-trades and was the person his family could call whenever they needed anything fixed around the house or on a car – he always had the answer. He was only ever a phone call away when anyone needed him. Whether to offer a hand or just to offer a listening ear; Chuck was the person to call.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his entire family.
