Dalton Romine, age 86, of Maypearl passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2020. He was born on September 3, 1933 to Matthew and Murrell Romine in Rule, Texas. Dalton joined the Army in 1953, where he was a corporal during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan during that time. He married the love of his life, JoNelle Edwards and had three children together. Dalton was a mechanical engineer and rancher. He loved the land and home he and his wife had built together in Maypearl. He was a great role-model, friend, neighbor, grandad, and dad. He loved spending time with his family. He will be missed and forever remembered. Dalton is survived by his son, Rickey Romine and wife Lenie; daughter, Teresa Cox; six grandchildren, Kelby Cox and wife Marisa, Kury Cox, Natosha Johnson and husband Carl, Roy Romine, Brian and Amy Cox; fifteen great-grandchildren; four siblings, Mary Nash, Zona Barnes, Jean Slagle, and Randall Romine and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended-family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife JoNelle (Edwards) Romine; son, Tyrus Romine; granddaughter, Eleesha Romine; three brothers, Willie, Mathie, and Walter Romine. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Interment will follow at Maypearl Cemetery.
