James Wayne Vincent

Funeral services for James Wayne Vincent, 62, of Kershaw, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2020, at Bethany Baptist Church, Westville. Rev. Craigan Blankenship will officiate. A private family graveside will follow the service in the Bethany Baptist Church cemetery. A viewing will be held, Sunday, May 24, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Mr. Vincent passed away, Friday, May 22, in Prisma Health, Richland, Columbia. Born in Camden, he was a son of Brenda Dowdle Vincent and the late James R. “Jimmy” Vincent. He was the owner/operator of Vincent Insulation for many years. Mr. Vincent was a graduate of Baron DeKalb High School. He loved to camp, and play and sing music. Mr. Vincent was very active in his community, he was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and had served as past chairman of the Board of deacons. He served as a First Responder and member for Westville Fire Department and had served as Chief. Mr. Vincent was always known for making excellent barbeque hash anytime the Fire Department was having a barbeque fundraiser. He worked with North Central football team, serving on the chain crew. He also was a devoted family man and enjoyed white water kayaking. He is survived in addition to his mother by his loving wife of 42 years, Debra Bradley Vincent; his son, Jamie (Meagan Wolfe) Vincent; his daughter, Taylor Vincent (Jacob) Knight; his sister, Karen V. (Greg) Newman and his beloved canine companion, Tilly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Vincent, may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, P.O. Box 488, Westville, S.C. 29175. Honorary pallbearers will be, Jeff Cato, Scott Cato, Billy Dowdle, Dru Hunter, Ned Jackson, Reggie Payne, Lee Rollings, Billy Smith, David Smith, Laney Truesdale, Jock Williams, Mitchell Williams , Phil Williams, Deacons of Bethany Baptist Church and past and current members of Westville Fire Department.
