Mrs. Naomi Faye Elks Tyer, 80, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 PM at Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during other times at her home: 7433 Pitt Street, Grimesland, NC. Mrs. Tyer was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, who will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Tyer; parents, William and Evelyn Elks; daughter, Valerie Tyer; sister, Jean Nobles; and brother, Wilbur Elks. She is survived by her daughter, Lori and husband, Tim Beddard of Ayden; son, Gregory Tyer of Grimesland; sister, Linda Elks of Greenville; brother, Larry Elks of Grantsboro; grandchildren, Bradley and wife, Ashley Elks of Ayden and Ericka and husband, Jeff Boyd of Greenville; along with two step-grandchildren, Blake Beddard and Alexis Beddard, both of Stokes; and special niece, Joy Hudgins of Virginia.
