Private funeral services for Milbert L. Albrecht, 89, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Erin Heidelberger officiating. The service will be livestreamed through his obituary page on our website. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Milbert died peacefully Friday, May 22 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 pm, Monday at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street. Milbert Lawrence Albrecht was born on April 5, 1931 at Long Lake, SD to Wilhelm and Christina (Hoffman) Albrecht. This is the area where he grew up and attended grade school and worked on the family farm. On November 17, 1957 he married LaVern Gohl at Long Lake where they purchased the family farm. To this union three children were born, Pam, Paula and Patricia (twins). He retired in 2002 and they moved to Aberdeen where he was living at the time of his death. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen and a past member of Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Long Lake where he served numerous times on the church council. He was also a volunteer fireman for several years. Grateful for having shared Milbert’s life are his wife of sixty-two years, LaVern Albrecht, Aberdeen, daughters, Pam (Bruce) Bettmeng, and Patricia Albrecht both of Sioux Falls, grandchildren, Alexandra Bettmeng, Zachary Bettmeng and Micah Albrecht Gonzalez, sisters, Olga Kempf, Ashley, ND and LaVina Meier, Aberdeen, sister-in-law, Inez Albrecht, Woodbury, MN. Preceding Milbert in death are his daughter, Paula (Larry) Albrecht-Dement, parents, Wilhelm and Christina Albrecht, siblings, Leonhard Albrecht, Richard Albrecht, Hilda Klipel, Walter Albrecht, Ermina Aman and Cornelius Albrecht.
