Jada Marie Martin (Pugsley), age 65, passed away surrounded by family at her home on Saturday, April 25, 2020. She was born January 26, 1955 in Burley, Idaho, to Joseph Jacob (Jay) Pugsley and Pauliene Marie Pugsley (Arroyo). On March 13, 1976 she married Douglas Ray Martin. The couple had one daughter, Misty, and later divorced. 

Jada enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and reading about or watching the latest celebrity chatter. With all the advancements in technology, she still enjoyed the feel of a book, magazine or paper in her hand. That is not to say she did not enjoy Facebook as any who was a friend would know she was quick witted and often posted meme’s that would make you smile or outright laugh. She dearly loved and was always supportive and proud of her daughter, but her grandchildren (Brenlee and Braxton) were her pride and joy. 

Jada worked at a variety of businesses in the Mini-Cassia area, but found her calling when Simplot’s in Heyburn, Idaho closed. The closing forced her to reassess what she wanted to do next in her life. She decided that she would pursue a career in healthcare. She obtained her GED and her certification as a Nursing Assistant from CSI in 2005.She accepted a position with the Mini-Cassia Care Center where she enjoyed caring for the residents for the past 15 years.

Jada was preceded in death by her parents Jay Pugsley and Pauliene (Carlos) Arroyo and is survived by her siblings; Paul Pugsley, Kevin (Colleen) Pugsley, Carla (Doug) Brown, Paula Arroyo, Carlos (Danette) Arroyo, Thomas Arroyo, Carmen (David) Willis, Mike Arroyo, Rita (Shawn) Rogers; her daughter Misty (Jarvis) Klatt; grandchildren Brenlee and Braxton Klatt; and numerous nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved deeply.

A special thanks to the Minidoka County Home Health and Hospice for all their care and compassion in her final days.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local senior centers as taking care of the elderly was her passion.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Morrison Payne Funeral Home in Burley, Idaho. The family requires masks and social distancing is to be maintained by all in attendance. Services will conclude with burial at the Riverside Cemetery and are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
