<p>Calvin R. Austin, 67, of Westport, SD, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at his home.</p> <p>His wishes were to be cremated and a graveside committal service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Westport at a later date.</p> <p>Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.</p> <p>Family and friends may sign Calvin’s online guestbook at www.schriversmemorial.com.</p> <p>Calvin R. Austin was born June 25, 1952, in McLaughlin, SD to Raymond F. and Zelma J. (Gray) Austin. He attended boarding schools in Eagle Butte, SD.</p> <p>Calvin was married to Janet A. Edwards on June 5, 1972, in Mobridge, SD. The couple made their home in Mobridge until the early 1980s, when they moved to Aberdeen. They resided in Aberdeen for a short period of time before relocating to Westport, SD. Throughout the years, Calvin did repair work at various furnace maintenance shops. He and Jan shared just over 41 years of marriage before she passed away on June 7, 2013. Calvin continued to make Westport his home until the time of his death.</p> <p>In his spare time, Calvin enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He especially loved the 4th of July and looked forward to selling fireworks at his stand every year.</p> <p>Surviving Calvin are his children: Twyla (Shane) Storm of Westport, SD, and Bill Austin and Curt Austin, both of Aberdeen; his step-daughter, Rhonda Edwards of Fargo, ND; many grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. </p> <p>Calvin is preceded in death by his wife, Janet; his parents, Raymond and Zelma; one step-daughter; and several brothers and sisters.</p> <p> </p>Obituary
