Daniel T. Crownover Obituary

Daniel T. Crownover, 64, of Plymouth, WI made his transition on December 10 after a full day celebration of life with his family and friends. He was born May 3, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI the second son of proud parents, Margaret (Schneider) and the late Fred Crownover. Daniel was a retired professional painter and loved volunteering for the Ice Age Center. He managed the rods and reel program for Mauthe and Long Lake, was a trail steward for many years and enjoyed working their special events, especially the kids fishing rodeos. The Kettle Moraine was his favorite place to be. He volunteered many hours to establish the initial Richardson Hospice Resale Store. He was a member of the Glacial Drifters Society and was especially fond of trilobites. His artistic side could be seen in his stain glass work and his handcrafted gemstone necklaces. He was the original bass player for Grass, Food and Lodging. Music was an important part of his life and some of his fondest memories over the last 8 years was attending Leon Russell concerts and Leon Lifer events. This group was his second family. Daniel is survived by his wife/partner Margaret, “Smokey” Kirton of 41 years and the joy of his life; his son, Martin and new bride, Cheyenne; very special friend, Brendan Keeling; and dog, Lucy. His loving family includes his Mother, Margaret Gerpoltz; sisters: Annette (Wolfgang) Schneider; Mary Meier (Tom); brothers: Fred (Rose), Paul, Jim, John (Kitty), and Andrew (Janice) and many nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to meeting his first grandchild in January. A gathering to celebrate Daniel’s life will be held on Sunday, December 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Camp Y Koda, W3340 Sunset Road, Sheboygan Falls, WI. The family wishes to thank the ICU nurses and staff at Columbia St Mary’s Ozaukee especially Dr. Drew Elgin, and the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their care and support.
