Mary Pat Aschenbrenner Obituary

Mary Pat Aschenbrenner, 82, De Pere, was received into the Lord's warm embrace on Friday, April 15, 2016 surrounded by her family after a courageous six year battle with cancer. She was born September 23, 1933 in the Town of Rockland, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Baeten) Ley. On August 4, 1954 she married Harvey Aschenbrenner at St. Francis Church, De Pere. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1993. Mary Pat loved to ride her horse on the family farm and she continued that love with her children. She graduated from East De Pere High School. Mary Pat was a devout catholic who prayed every day, loved visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, and was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Church. Mary Pat became a part of the De Pere Ladies Auxiliary Post and was President of the Post and loved volunteering to carry the flag in the Memorial Day parade. She enjoyed working the Brown County Fair as the supervisor to the open class of baked goods and preserves, and working the concessions at the dirt tracks. Mary Pat was an avid knitter, gardener, baker of her million dollar chocolate chip cookies, and she loved canning. She always had fresh linens on the line no matter the season. But the most important thing to Mary Pat was her dedication to her family; Harvey for 61 total years; her children, grandchildren and her great grandchild. Mary Pat is survived by her four sons: Joseph (Lisa) Aschenbrenner & their son William "Buddy" (Kari), Michael (friend Rae) Aschenbrenner, Ralph (Beth) Aschenbrenner & their children Steve (Michelle) Lindstrum, Mary and Andy, and Dennis (Geralyn) Aschenbrenner & their children Erica (Sean) Braden with Everly Faith and Cody; her only daughter Lou Ann (Joe) Bloemer; her sister Ann Hare of Ohio; her sisters-in-law Ann Ley, Pat Ley; and her brother-in-law Bob (Jeanette) Aschenbrenner. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; granddaughter Katy; her siblings: Joseph Ley, Helen (Jerome) Flanagan, John (Mabel) Ley, and Donald Ley; her brothers-in-law Rufus (Millie) Aschenbrenner and Jerome Aschenbrenner; and her companion dog Maddie. Family and friends may visit on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N. Tenth St, De Pere. with the De Pere Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, 220 S. Michigan, De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Mary Pat will be laid to rest next to Harvey in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send condolences to Mary's family.
