We the family of John William Cook announce his passing on January 15, 2017 at The Three Lyn Center, Vancouver. Born in New Waterford on January 16, 1946, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Elizabeth “Bessie” (Dickson) Cook. He is survived by his son Peter; granddaughters Katrina and Amanda, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sisters Catherine (Bernard) Landry, River Bourgeois, Ruth Gaudet, Sydney, Betty Anne (Murry) Kirkpatrick, Colburn, ON; brother Patrick (Paddy), New Waterford, Peter (Aleta), Hammond Plains, Bernard (Bernie), Sydney, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by sisters Alice, Edith, Margaret, brother James (Jimmy), also in infancy his siblings John, David, Sheila and Patricia; brothers-in-law Austin Gaudet, John Willie Fraser; sister-in-law Donna (Dupe) Cook, and Patricia MacDonald , mother of his son Peter. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place Wednesday, Feb.15, 2017 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating. Burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
