Quincy Adam Irions Obituary

Quincy Adam Irions was born August 7, 1955 to the late JC Irions, Sr. and Bessie Shelton Irions in Columbus, Ms. Quincy confessed hope in Christ at a young age under the leadership of Pastor E.E. Heard at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Quincy attended the Columbus Public School System. He is a 1973 graduate of S. D. Lee High School where he excelled academically and in the sport of track. He served as class president of the class of 1973. Quincy is a 1977 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology. Quincy worked at Community Counseling Services of Starkville, Mississippi and Atlanta, Georgia as a manager of independent living residents. He was also employed with Williams Brothers Constructions in Atlanta, Georgia.

Quincy is preceded in death by his father, mother, and three sisters; Nettie Brewer, Ida Williams and Doris Irions. He is also preceded in death by his three brothers; Lee Irions, JC Irions and Russell Irions.

 He leaves to cherish his precious memories, two daughters;  Angela Darnice Purnell of Starkville, Mississippi and Olivia Denise Irions of Columbus, Mississippi. He leaves three brothers; George Irions (Ada) and Bobby Irions (Annie) of Columbus; and Freddie Irions of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Quincy also leaves to mourn his memory three sisters Annie Jenkins (Herbert-deceased) of Atlanta, Georgia; Mary Wilcox of Cleveland, Ohio; and Nancy Mason (Robert-deceased) of Columbus, Mississippi;  his beloved Grand-Daughter, Kassidy Skye Coleman.  Others who mourn his memory are a large number of nieces and nephews. Quincy also leaves several other relatives and a host of friends to celebrate his memory.
